For this post, you will become an expert on one of the following hallmarks of cancer. If you are the first person to post, read the first page (Activating Invasion and Metastasis), if you are the second person to post, read the second page (Genome Instability and Mutation), etc.

Click on one of the hallmarks of cancer below:

  1. Activating Invasion and Metastasis
  2. Genome Instability and Mutation
  3. Inducing Angiogenesis
  4. Resisting Cell Death
  5. Sustaining Proliferative Signaling

Two of the groups will have 6 people. The last person to post in groups with 6 people, will add on to at least 2 hallmarks of cancer (please identify which two hallmarks of cancer you will add on to and create your own post.)

Post Requirements:

This assignment requires two posts, each completed individually.

First Post – Due Thursday

  1. Provide a 3-4 sentence summary explaining how your hallmark can lead to the development of cancer.
  2. Give an example of a cancer that exhibits your hallmark. It is highly recommended that you revisit the Types of Cancer Softchalk in order to answer this question. If you use any outside sources, be sure to cite them fully, including in-text citations and a full reference list at the end for full credit.

Second Post – Due Sunday

  1. Choose one classmate’s post to which to respond. Try to respond to someone that hasn’t yet received a response. Address the cancer they chose as an example of the hallmark and discuss two ways that you might prevent that type of cancer. You will need to do some outside research here. Please make sure that your sources are credible and that you properly cite all sources.
