What: “We Are the Proverbs We Live By” – This speech is for you to introduce yourself by telling a brief personal story in which a lesson can be learned.

Podcasts are the new way to learn about the world around you. They can be informing, persuading, comical, or even dark, but nonetheless they allow us learn, ponder, laugh, escape reality, or even scare us to death. For this assignment, you should create a podcast based on a proverb with a lesson you learned. Your podcast may have a typical introduction (Welcome to today’s show…) and a typical ending (Thanks again for listening to…), but make sure that you still incorporate an attention-getting introduction and a wow-factor conclusion within your story line. Always keep in mind that your audience is only “listening” so your vocal delivery is key. What podcast will you create so others want to listen?

Topic: You are to incorporate a proverb into your podcast speech that helps your audience to understand the subject described. As a result of your speech, the audience should see the lesson learned in a new way. A list of possible proverbs is provided below but you should not feel obligated to use one from it and are free to use a proverb from anywhere in the world.

Length: 300-400 words
