Hey (As you see from today’s and yesterday’s non-literary readings, academic writing always requires
melding your initial intellectual instincts with textual evidence. We practiced this melding last week
through your first formal essay on a short story, and our challenge this week will be to think about
how poetry can be used interpreted.
Remember last week’s work on the argumentative thesis, using this formula:

thinking about how you see this concept play out in any or all of the Lorde poems.
