First Four Chapter of Temp by Louis Hyman Essay

I’m studying for my Writing class and need an explanation.

For each chapter of Temp that we read over the weekend— Chapters 1, 2, and 3 and chapter 4—please write a brief, 250-300 word synopsis/per chapter.

This exercise has two main goals: 1) you should treat these synopses as a helpful way to remember what takes place in each chapter of Temp and as a way to begin thinking about the kinds of questions you might want to address in your Contexts Project and 2) you should also treat these as practice exercises for your Annotated Bibliography, which is one of the requirements of our course. In other words, write these synopses as if they were an Annotated Bibliography even though they are separate chapters (remembering that Annotated Bibliographies are about books or articles, not one chapter from a book).

You might consider answering the following questions: What are the main historical events that Hyman discusses in the chapter? What is the chapter’s main theme? Does Hyman write about any problems that you find interesting or that seem worth exploring further? What seems to be each chapter’s main argument, and how does this argument relate to the argument of the book as a whole?
