School Environment Capital Acquisition YCSC & Social Science Principles Discussion

Help me study for my Writing class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

  • What modifications or supplemental methods could be incorporated into the school environment to improve the social capital if the Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) holistic approach was being implemented in a low performing school where parental participation/cooperation was minimal?
  • In the case of question #1, is it possible to make significant improvements in the social capital of the school environment without the participation of parental/family support? In what ways might this environment be different from a school environment with full collaborative support between community, parents, and educators?
  • If, as an educator, you had adopted and effectively implemented this holistic approach in a previous school environment, but had to move to an educational environment that did not use this same approach (and was resistant to change), what changes would you make to your approach to adjust this new environment? What components would you keep, and what would you eliminate? What, if any, improvements would you see in the social capital of your classroom with these modifications?
  • If you are a Special Education teacher or the primary teacher in an inclusion classroom, what would be the benefits to adopting this holistic approach? What areas do you see as needing additional reinforcement to improve the human and social capital for these students? What specifically would you adjust or add to teaching philosophy improve the social capital and human capital for these students?
  • How could the addition technology integration in today’s school environment be advantageous in improving the social capital? What would be the benefits? What potential problems do you see?
