Social Justice & Jesuit Value Paper Topic Approval

For the final paper that you will write next week you will have the opportunity to engage a social justice issue of your choosing.

In order to get approval for your paper write a brief discussion post in which you include the following four points (it’s fine if you use bullet points or simply number them 1-4):

1. Issue: State the social justice issue on which you will be focusing.
2. Position: Offer a solution to the problem/issue in the form of a moral claim (this will eventually be your thesis statement).
3. Ethical Theory: state which ethical theories and/or philosophers you will employ to support your claim
4. Value: Choose a Jesuit Value and explain how this value informs and supports your moral claim.

Read through your classmates‘ proposals, and offer suggestions, or ask questions about the social justice issues being explored (peer responses are optional). Be sure to look at some of the examples of potential topics in this week’s Content.
