Chose and analyze one primary source or political cartoon that connects to our class and has not covered in the course (either in course modules or VoF)… i.e. – If you / our class ends at the Civil War and you submit a JFK Cartoon, then you will not receive a passing grade.

Assignment: In your discussion posts, explain the origin, purpose, and content to be found in the source, as well as the value it has to the historian studying “your chosen period” in US History, as well as what does the source not tell us, that is to say the limitations of the source. Your posts should be no less than 6-8 sentences.

• Example – Political Cartoon on Westward Expansion – How is this of value to the study of Manifest Destiny? What can you learn from it?
• Make sure you go back and look at the sources we have already covered!
